Two years ago, I found myself in need of a reset. I craved space to think, to dream, and to just be. So, after wrapping up a work trip in Portugal, I decided to extend my trip—just for myself. And I called it my first “solo retreat”!

I found a lovely spot in Ponta Delgada, nestled between the ocean and rolling green hills. It was the off-season, so the place was quiet, serene, and, most importantly, exactly what I needed. I turned off my phone, tucked away the distractions, and spent my days walking the coastline in a hoodie, journaling, and simply allowing my mind to wander. The resort even provided a phone for emergencies, giving me full permission to disconnect from the outside world.

And in that silence, clarity arrived.

I realized I wanted more than just a job that paid well—I wanted work that challenged me, inspired me, and made an impact. I kept noticing a recurring thread through journaling, writing, and painting my thoughts: the moments I felt most alive were when I was creating, teaching, and helping others tap into their creativity.

By the time I left, I had a vision. I was going to teach art to companies. I was going to help people reconnect with their dreams. I now had something to aim towards with a great WHY.

This retreat wasn’t about escaping—it was about listening. And what I discovered in the quiet ultimately became the foundation for my business and the Vision Board Kit, a tool to help others carve out that same space for reflection and intentional dreaming—without needing to fly across the world to do it.
